Opportunities for Giving
Hoboken Family Alliance Book Drive
We have a big box down in the annex — fill it up with books for local families in need. Gifts will be distributed through the York Street Project, In Jesus’s Name Charities, and NJ Child Protection and Permanency (formerly DYFS). Kids from 0 - 17. We have suggestions HERE, but feel free to give any book you love. Buy online and tell us it's for HFA, we'll put it in the box. (Choose "pick up at store" at checkout.) Stop by and add a beautiful toy
— because everybody loves a toy, to go along with their book (don't you?).
Gift of Literature
This holiday season, help Samantha give the gift of classic books to her students.
Samantha Glass, Hudson School alum, is in an English Education Masters program at Rutgers, She's been student teaching this fall at a local middle school. As a farewell to her 8th-graders — many low-income and first-generation immigrants — she would like to give each student two books to keep. She needs 70 copies of The Diary of a Young Girl: Anne Frank and 70 copies of The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros. You can buy a book, or two! or 10! RIGHT HERE for Samantha's students. She knows they will be forever grateful for the gift of classic literature.
Please pay online, and select "pick up at store" at check out — books will be delivered to the school.
